Before I get into today’s topic, I want to say how thankful I am for all those who visit this blog. I love the Word of God and I’m addicted to studying it! God supports my habit. I’m constantly reading books, listening to sermons, and well as my own time pouring over the scriptures. Jeremiah 15:16 (NKJV) 16 Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts. My wife and I want to be a blessing to the Body of Christ. I never assume I know it all and that I am some kind of spiritual giant. Nothing could be farther from the truth. We are happy servants of the Lord, who love Him and desire to minister grace and the truth of God’s Word as the Holy Spirit leads and teaches us! We haven’t arrived, but we are learning and growing every day. Are we seeing all the promises of God in our lives being manifested? No, but we have left the building, and we are seeing the hand of God in so many ways. I’m alive today because of His grace ( See testimony below, click on links). There is so much good teaching today, and we are very blessed. We need to avail ourselves of all that God has and to be students of the Word of God! For it is Life to us always! It is the God kind of Life! Let’s go deeper!
The Word of God is the Living Word; it is Jesus! It is the “Logos” and the “Rhema” of God. John 1:1 The Eternal Word (Gen. 1:1—2:3) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Apostle John tells us the Living Word is Spirit and it is life. It is a quickening Word. A Word that is alive. It is more than ink on a page! The Word is God’s life! John 6:63 (NKJV)-63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. Christ is the living Logos and the living Rhema, a revealing Word, a progressive Word! Jesus, the living Word, is eternal. The same that we see in creating the world. He is Alpha and Omega, the Greek alphabet, the first and last. All things created by Him and for Him. You are a new creation in Christ Jesus that never existed before! You are unique in Christ! The Word, the living Word, is an incorruptible seed. The Word of God is a seed, and it will bring forth its designed purpose! This includes salvation and all our inheritance in Christ, including healing. ( Eph. 1:3, 2 Peter 1:1-4, Col 1:12).
James 1:21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. If it can save us, it can heal us! The Word of God is supernatural. When it is sown into our hearts and confessed and believed upon! We can receive healing and all the promises through the Word of God. The Word of God, the gospel, is the power of God unto salvation and healing for everyone who believes! (Rom. 1:16-17) This is what the Word of God will do if we put it into our hearts. Proverbs 3:1-2- forget not thy law, keep in thy heart, why? They are the length of days and long life, and peace. God is a Word God, and we are Word creatures. We have a God-given capacity to speak His Word! Look at Psalms 119:50. This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life! His Word gives you life! God’s Word is not just ink on a page; it carries the life and nature of God! It carries His supernatural power! We have natural life, the Greek word bios, and soul life, the Greek Word psuche. Eternal life, the Greek word eternal is aiōnios, which is perpetual life. Life eternal. John 3:15 (NKJV)-15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. The word life is the Greek word “Zoe“. It means life, God’s life! Life is an energy source, the power of being, the stopping of decay and corruption; it is eternal. God, the source of life, comes as we receive Christ Jesus! John 1:4 (NKJV)-4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. Eternal Life abides within us!
We receive God’s Word through study, meditation, and getting it into our hearts! It has to be more than knowledge, in our thinking! It has to become a revelation in our hearts, where you are fully persuaded of its truth! You don’t back off, you don’t waver. In (John 6:63), Jesus said his Word is spirit. The Greek word spirit is pneuma. It means wind ( John 3:8), a current of air, breath, or blast. His Word is not philosophy, carnal, fleshly, earthly knowledge. It is invisible, immaterial, and powerful! It is the breath of life (Gen. 6:17, Gen. 7:22). It is the breath of the spirit of life! Psalms 33:6 By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. John 3:8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” You are a spirit, soul, and a body alive unto God( 1Thess. 5:23). You are not just a physical, emotional being but a spiritual being created in the image and likeness of God (Gen. 1:26)! Acts 17:25 Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.
The Word of God is the spirit of truth ( John 4:24) and life. This Word quickens. It vitalizes! To make alive, give life! Causes to live, as it says in the Greek. 1 Timothy 6:13 I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, it tells us in Romans; Romans 4:17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; He gives life to the spiritually dead ( Eph. 2:1-7). Those who haven’t received Christ into their heart. Apostle John says this: John 5:21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. What is eternal life? John tells us. John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. In the epistles of John, again, tells us what eternal life is. 1Jo 5:11 — 1Jo 5:12 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. This is what Jesus said in raising Lazarus. John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.
Before we met and received Christ, Apostle Paul tells s what shape we were in. Ephesians 4:18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; If we are Born Again, we are not alienated, deprived of the Life of God. Life, God’s life is in His Son, and He dwells in us! It is His Spirit that quickens, makes alive our mortal body (Rom. 8:11). We have life, bios, and natural soul life, psuche, and we have Eternal life, Zoe! John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: God eternal, Spirit life dwells, abides in us when we receive Christ! The power that creates and sustains life is Logos. Things are created visible and invisible. Where there is life, there is light! The Word is light and life, and there is no darkness! There is no corruption. 1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. God has delivered us out of darkness and placed us into Christ( Col 1:13, Rom 6:3).
Jesus is the fountain of life. John 7:38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” He tells the women at the well about eternal life.
John 4:14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting(Eternal) life.” He gives physical, moral, and spiritual eternal life! We have the light of life (John 8:12). This eternal life is manifested to us! (1John 1:2). The key to this life is that it becomes real to you. It jumps in your heart! You know that you know that you know! Hearing with your heart, with your spirit! The Word comes alive, faith comes alive! (Isaiah 55:11)- The Word will accomplish and it will prosper! It will produce life and healing!!! Romans 10:8 (NKJV) –8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): The best place for the Word of God is in your heart and coming out of your mouth!
Look at Prov. 4:20-22-My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.
Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health ( medicine) to all their flesh. Conceiving the reality of God’s Word, the logos and the rhema of God’s Word must be hidden in our hearts. It is the place of choosing and believing. It is where we make decisions. “I’m going to believe God’s Word no matter what, regardless of what I feel and see! Are you digesting the Word of God? God promises a long, not a sickly, life, but a healthy life( Psalm 91:16, Prov. 3:1-2)! The life of God gives us confidence and truth to fight darkness and all the works of the devil, which Jesus came to destroy (1 John 3:8). God’s Word will heal you, for it carries the nature and life of God, and that is health and healing! Psalms 107:20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destruction ( from the pit)! Delivered in Hebrew is smooth, escape, release, rescue, to bring forth!
It’s time to bring out the hammer from God’s toolbox. Jeremiah 23:29-“Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? God’s Word is like a hammer that breaks demon oppression, breaks sickness and disease, breaks the spirit of poverty and fear. It will break doubt and unbelief! Just trying the Word is not believing! To see if it will work is not believing! It is not a formula! Faith is of the heart! You choose to believe that there is life in the Word of God. Stop saying I don’t see any results. We walk by faith and not by sight (2 Cor 5:7). We believe we have the same spirit of faith. Because we believe we speak the Word of God(2 Cor. 4:13). You have faith to believe and receive! We need to meditate on the Word of God until it becomes alive in our hearts! What we think about, meditate on, determines the direction of our lives! Anything else will choke and strangle the Word in our lives! We are programming our lives for abundant life, for health and healing! Let’s keep downloading the Word of God!
The writer of Hebrews, probably Apostle Paul, tells these Jewish Christians not to drift away from Christ, the living Word, and go back under the law. Don’t let the word of God pass you by. Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. Keeping the Word in your heart. In the center of continual choosing and believing His Word! Focusing on the Word of God. All the blessings and promises of God’s Word are yes and amen. It’s yours to have if you will receive it, believe it, and act upon it. That includes the gift of healing and health! Healing is a harvest of the seed of God’s Word sown in your heart. The Word of God will profit you, spirit, soul, and body!! Faith to receive comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God! Rom. 10:17!
In conclusion, thank God for the life that God gives! Not just physical and soulish, mental life, but eternal life. A life that knows and is in fellowship with the God-head, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. See His eternal life flowing from your spirit, where the living Word, the Christ, dwells by His Spirit( Gal. 4:6, 1 Cor 3:16). Envision that life of God flowing and driving all that is not of God out of you! That hammer, the Logos breaking off everything. Bringing life to what is dead. The Rhema of God’s Word makes it personal. A word spoken directly to you. God is speaking to you today through His Word. Let us grow in receiving and releasing that resurrected life found in Christ (Phil 3:9-11). Don’t stop believing!
In Christ’s Love;
