“The Statue of Lady Justice, an emblematic figure in judicial systems worldwide, stands as a powerful symbol of fairness, impartiality, and the rule of law. This iconic figure has evolved over centuries to embody the core principles of justice as we understand it today.”A society cannot exist without laws! Laws are given to rein in ungodly behavior. The rule of Law is essential for any society. Running stop signs and red lights is foolish and dangerous. Someone could die. Laws are meant to protect us. Many, if not all, of our laws are based on the commandments of God, and our judicial system is also based on them. Some of the most important documents, such as the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, the Gettysburg Address, the Emancipation Proclamation, and the three branches of government, have the providential righteous hand of God on them. If a society ceases to be moral, darkness and evil will prevail. Liberty will be lost. There can be no morality without God. Psalm 103:6 (NKJV)-6 The LORD executes righteousness And justice for all who are oppressed.
Legislative Branch
- Responsible for making laws.
- Composed of two houses: the House of Representatives and the Senate.
- Members of Congress are elected by the public.
Executive Branch
- Responsible for enforcing laws.
- Headed by the President, who is elected for a four-year term.
- Includes the Vice President and the Cabinet.
Judicial Branch
- Responsible for interpreting laws.
- Composed of the Supreme Court and lower federal courts.
- Justices are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate.
This structure ensures a system of checks and balances, preventing any one branch from gaining too much power.
Natural laws like gravity and electricity keep us grounded and keep our refrigerator and cell phones running, among other things. There are also spiritual laws. Laws that are unseen yet created by God. Law comes from an Old English word that means laid or fixed. Law is not biased; it is not a respecter of persons. Here is a definition of law: That which is laid down, ordained, or established. A rule or method according to which phenomena or actions coexist or follow each other. 2. A system of principles and rules of human conduct being the aggregate of those commandments and principles which are either prescribed or recognized by the governing power in an organized jural society as its will in relation to the conduct of the members of such society, and which it undertakes to maintain and sanction and to use as the criteria of the actions of such members.” Law” is a solemn expression of legislative will. It orders and permits and forbids. It announces rewards and punishments” ( The Law.com dictionary). That is quite long, isn’t it? The law, whether natural or laid down, applies and works for everyone.
The Statue of Lady Justice, the right to liberty and justice for all, is given to us by God. The Cross of Christ represents the love and the justice of God. God is the sovereign law of the universe. It is ordained and established. It is laid and fixed. He upholds all things by the power of His Word( Hebrews 1:3, Psalm 24:1, Psalm 33:5, Psalm 47:2, Psalm 146:6, 1 Tim. 6:15-16). The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, is the very nature and power of God. God is equitable, impartial, and more than fair. It is the Spirit of grace, and the Holy Spirit operates within spiritual laws. One law is that He always obeys is to magnify and testify of Christ. He never speaks of himself ( John 16:13-14). The Bible talks about different laws such as: The Law of faith, the Law of sin and death, the Law of the Spirit, the royal Law of love, the Law of liberty, the Law of Moses, the Law of commandments, the Law of Christ, the works of the Law, the Law of righteousness, the Law of God, the Law of sowing and reaping, and the Law of sin.
What I want to talk about is the Law of the Spirit. We find this in the book of Romans. Romans 8:2 (NKJV)-2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. As opposed to the law of sin and death is the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. In a physical sense, the law of sin and death is at work in our bodies. It is appointed unto men to die ( Hebrews 9:27). The body without the spirit of man will die. (James 2:26). Because of Adam’s sin, corruption came into the earth. A curse came upon the earth. This is why there are sicknesses, diseases, mental health issues, like depression, germs, viruses, spiritual death, and poverty. Of course, the Devil is behind these things, for they are the works of the devil. The good news is that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil( 1 John 3:8). The grace of God is greater than the Law of sin and death!
Apostle Paul tells us that we are made free or liberated from the law of sin and death. How are we free from the law of sin? If we are a Christian, born again, there is another law at work within us. It is the law of the spirit of life, or we could say, the law of the spirit of grace. The law of “Lift” overcomes the law of gravity. We choose to get on an airplane and overcome gravity. We choose the law of the Spirit of life to overcome the law of sin. We all have the potential to sin, but we also have a choice not to sin, because we no longer have a sin nature. We are no longer slaves to sin but to righteousness ( Rom. 6:6, Rom. 6:14, Rom. 6:18. We are a new creation in Christ( 2 Cor. 5:17). We have a regenerated, Born-Again spirit. A spiritual rebirth has taken place. A human spirit that is now alive to God that is no longer dead in trespasses and sin( Eph 2:1). Apostle Paul goes on to say we are free from the law of death. We will die physically one day, but our spirit and soul are eternal if we are in Christ. One day, we will receive a resurrected body. It is also implied that we are free from that which brings an absence of life as God would have it. Death always means a separation. The spirit of man is separated from the physical body. Depression is a form of death. A separation from God’s peace and joy. Sickness and disease are a separation from healing and health. In the original creation, God never meant for there to be sickness and disease physically or mentally.
The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is a game-changer. It is the Spirit that gives life (John 6:63). It was the Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead ( Rom 8:11). That is both a spiritual and physical reality. Because He lives, we will live with Him forever. He is the resurrection and the life ( John 11:25)! This is a spiritual law, when applied and believed in, it affects our lives supernaturally and eternally. This is an ordained and established law that God has put in motion that benefits us. Like any law, we have to cooperate with that law to reap its benefits. The law will work for anyone. It is no respecter of persons. Just like electricity will work for anyone. God, by His Spirit, can overcome natural laws. We call it a miracle or a gift of healing( Gal. 3:5). It is also true that God created our bodies to heal themselves. Medical intervention can help in the healing process if needed. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus can overcome sickness and disease in any form, either physically or mentally, if we will receive it by the law of faith(Romans 3:27, Hebrews 11:1, Hebrews 11:6, Mark 11:24, Matt. 7:7-8). If we can be forgiven of sin, we can be healed in our bodies (Psalm 103:1-3, Mark 2:9).
God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts ( Gal. 4:6). The Holy Spirit abides in us ( 1 Cor. 3:16). It is the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, that gives life. Christ in us the hope of glory( Col. 1:27). Doctors will say there is no cure for some sicknesses and diseases. There is no hope of recovery. That can be a physical reality, but not the only reality. The is the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. Today, we see multitudes healed that medical science has given up on. We see people raised from death itself. People are delivered from all sorts of oppression and bondage. We see this in the ministry of Jesus( Acts 10:38). We see it in the early Church. Acts 5:16 (NKJV)-16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed. Electricity has always been around, until it was discovered. The truth of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has always been around since the cross and resurrection. People just didn’t know it. Hosea 4:6 (NKJV)-6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Apostle Peter tells us that grace and peace are multiplied to us in the knowledge of Jesus. It is through the knowledge of Jesus that there is life and godliness. That we can be partakers of the supernatural life in Christ(2 Peter 1:1-4). God, who gives life to the dead, as we see with Abraham and Sarah, they were unable to have children in their old age. In a womb that was dead, God brought life( Romans 4:17-18). This was the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus working. God’s governing supernatural power is behind it.
In Romans 8, it tells us this: Romans 8:11 (NKJV)-11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. If you are a Christian, does the Spirit of God dwell in you? Absolutely! If God raised Jesus from the dead, he will also give life to your physical, mortal body. Not only is this a future experience when we will receive a resurrected body, but it is something that we can experience and receive by faith now. Philippians 3:10 (NKJV)-10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death. Why, because the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus lives in us! The healer Jesus, by His Spirit, lives within us. The Holy Spirit will testify to the healing power of God in us. If the woman with an issue of blood could touch Jesus and be healed, could we not do the same if He dwells in us? All that God provided for us in our inheritance in Christ is in us. Philemon 1:6 (NKJV)-6 that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. His love, joy, and peace are within our human spirit( Galatians 5:22-23, Romans 5:5). I’ve experienced healing in my body, my wife and children have as well, and I am currently on a healing journey. I believe in the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me well!
In closing: 1 Corinthians 6:17 (NKJV)-17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. It is the Spirit of the resurrected life. To be joined unto the Lord is to be joined to His love, peace, joy, and yes, even healing. I’m still learning and growing. I don’t always understand it all. But God’s Word doesn’t lie. It is a walk of faith and trust. The Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus gives more revelation to walk in ( 1 Cor. 1:30, Col. 2:3, 1 Cor 2:5) so that our faith will be more effective. I choose to believe and walk in everything that God has for us! The Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus always gives us hope when they say there is no hope. Death and life are truly in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). We need to believe and speak it forth in faith. 2 Corinthians 4:13 (NKJV)-13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak. The Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is the Law of Liberty. Jesus is the Living Word that sets us free. Let’s walk in the freedom that Christ gives( John 8:32, John 8:36, Gal. 5:1).
